The problem people have is not sin, particularly. It is unrighteousness; sin is merely the symptom. Many churches today seem to think that sin is the problem and instruct their congregations to merely defeat sin, however they have defined sin. As a result, they merely put a band-aid over the symptom while failing to address the sickness. The Bible's message gets at something deeper--human nature. By nature, we are unable to seek after God or be good. We are dead in our trespasses. Our sickness is unrighteousness and our symptom is sin.
In this episode, James and Andrew consider Paul Washer's third indictment against the modern church. They consider human nature and why Christ's work is such good news for the world today.
